Sentosa Flowers + Malaysia Food Street

Unlikely combination but we (my parents, my cousin and me) did that last Friday. We went to Sentosa Flowers 2012 and had dinner at the Malaysian Food Street at Resort World Singapore.

Yummy combination, I must say (although many commented that this year's Sentosa Flowers is not as good as past years). It's been a long time since my last visit, so I guess my expectation is not that high. It rained, thanks to the Water Dragon year :P and I did not take a lot of pictures - just some for fun and to try out the aperture mode.

For some reasons, I took quite a few pictures of orchids. Guess I was feeling patriotic! :P
Read about the Malaysian Food Street in the media, and decided to bring my parents who are more into hawker food than restaurant food. There were rave reviews about some of the items I tried :)  A bit expensive though but well, no need to go to KL, Penang or Malacca just to eat :P So still worth the trip, I say!
Hokkien Mee. Nice. But I thought the one in KL is better :P

Hokkien Mee too. This is very nice. I like it - a bit spicy though :P

Cuttlefish with Kang Kong. The sauce is nice.

Flour roll and bean curd skin with curry. A bit weird.

Clay pot rice which we waited one hour for! It's amazing! But it was very good. Forgot to take a picture before we attacked it. It tastes 100% better than it looks :P

Chengdol. Nice too :)

Scrapbooking III - Happy Birthday, MQ!

Here's a birthday card I made for an old friend MQ and we kind of celebrated it on a staycation at MBS and watched Wicked last weekend. It was a lovely stay - MBS was beautiful (will post some pictures soon, haha, Wicked was great too :) and of course the card was pretty :P

Happy 3X Birthday, MQ!
We also took the opportunity to celebrate 20 years of friendship - yes yes I know these girls since we were teenagers :) A great start to 2012, I must say (although I was really frustrated at work for the last few weeks :/ )
And ah, today's is KW's birthday. @KW, if you happen to read this post one day, Happy Birthday! :) and congrats, father-to-be!

I'm a shoepaholic

Chinese New Year (CNY) is the time of the year where many people take stock of their life - we call it 'spring-cleaning'. This year's CNY came on the heels of the New Year, so I have not had much time to take stock of my life (as in life).

But I did take stock of my shoe cabinent. I spring-cleaned my shoe cabinent today. It's official - I'm a shoepaholic. I counted and I have 38 pairs of shoes (slippers, sandals, flats, heels, pumps etc). And I have not even counted my adidas running shoes!

I know I have many shoes. But I did not realise I have so many (more than my age, my mum quipped :P). Verdict of this stock-take is I need to stop buying shoes and start wearing them. Perhaps keep the number down to at least my age. Phew!
